The Most Beautiful Things
I was so grateful Jocalyn shared this trailer and film on her blog. It truly inspired me for many reasons, so I thought I'd share it! Here is the trailer and the actual, full film. Truly amazing.

Tribute to Siblings
This is the family whose story inspired me to start Chloe's Sunshine Playground. They deserve the recognition they got on the Today Show last week. Each of them touch my heart so much, and I think the song to a special needs' child's siblings will resonate to many of you....

Loading Wheelchair Into Van
Having a child that is non-mobile puts a lot of stress on your back. To help ease the burden and awkward movement of loading and unloading my daughter's manual adaptive stroller into our minivan, I use a suitcase ramp.
We bought our ramp new, but I have seen some great deals on Craigslist and would check there first when we are in the market for another one.
Here are a few other ramp options. Images linked to sources.

Wheelin' Jazz
I just found out that tonight is a celebrity wheelchair game in Salt Lake City. If you're in the area, you should try to stop by! All proceeds go to Neuroworx Adaptive Sports Program, which includes junior accessible sports in Salt Lake County.
You can get information about the different programs available by clicking here.
You can get tickets and information here. And here is the poster with lots of details as well:

If you don't live in Utah, just google accessible sports in your area and you'll probably find something similar!

Walk and Roll
One of my husband and I's favorite pastimes is hiking.... It literally elevates! Well, when we were expecting Chloe, we had plans to get the nicest, fanciest hiking back pack for her so we could all enjoy hiking together.
We've tried them all. Her trunk and neck control is just insufficient. What a bummer.
Well, my favorite time of year for hiking is fall, and this year I decided to try to find some accessible hikes in our area, thinking I would be lucky to find just one. I was pleasantly surprised to find that there are lots! We've got enough places to go to fill up every weekend with a "walk and roll" if we want!

I found these great resources and had to share them with you all.
I also found some other hikes that weren't listed on those sites just by googling "wheelchair accessible hike Utah." You could try that for your area as well!

In the midst of the complexities of modern life, with all its pressures, the spirit of man needs to refresh itself by communion with unspoiled nature. In such surroundings- occasional as our visits may be- we can achieve that kind of physical and spiritual renewal that comes alone from the wonder of the natural world.
