Hunt For Happiness

Did you know

it's Hunt for Happiness Week!
?!?

"The Secret Society of Happy People enthusiastically declares January 20-26, 2008, as the seventh Hunt for Happiness Week. We encourage people to actively seek happiness during the week."

So I've gathered some of my favorite quotes about happiness (you know how I love quotes), to give everyone a jump start to your happy week....

"Gratefulness is the key to a happy life that we hold in our hands, because if we are not grateful, then no matter how much we have we will not be happy -- because we will always want to have something else or something more." ~Brother David Steindl-Rast

"Happiness comes when your work and words are of benefit to yourself and others." ~Buddha

If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion
." ~HH the Dalai Lama

"Happiness cannot come from without. It must come from within. It is not what we see and touch or that which others do for us which makes us happy; it is that which we think and feel and do, first for the other fellow and then for ourselves." ~Helen Keller

"The greatest part of our happiness depends on our dispositions, not our circumstances." ~Martha Washington

Aaaaaah. What a great way to start the week out, am I right?

Now, for some fun ideas to make memories with your families this week....

Child's Doodle Stamp

A Bit of This and a Bit of That shows you how to turn your child's doodles into....

a stamp! And then they take the idea a step further, and use the stamp to make....

a shirt! How cute is this idea! Go HERE for a tutorial.

Inaugural Party

Crafty Crow gives plenty of ideas on how to throw a fantastic inaugural party, that will help keep the entire family entertained, happy, and fed!

This patriotic drink by Chocolate on My Cranium is my favorite. It's pretty, sounds delicious and easy to make! Go HERE for a tutorial.

Now on to the giveaway's. Remember, everytime you left a comment last week, you were entered into a drawing to win....
This scrapbook stack, complete with plenty of papers and stickers! And the winner is....

Melanie of The Baeten Family. Congrats Melanie!

This week's giveaway is a bit of a repeat, but only because it was so popular before. This week, every comment left is an entry to win

a $25 gift certificate from Restaurant.com

.
CC was the winner of this giveaway a few weeks ago, and she kept me up-to-date on her night out with her hubby minus the kids. It was a joy to hear about, and I want to share that kind of love again. So leave comments everyone, and a night out on the town could be yours!

Have a happy week everyone!

What a happy idea to look for happiness. That's something that's kind of hard to do with an infant stealing your beauty sleep, but I'm gonna try! ;O)
