Sensory toys are a must for children with special needs, but they can be expensive! Give your budget more wiggle room and make your own! Here are some fun and easy ideas that mask sensory integration therapy as fun playtime!
some great ideas here. When Ashley was small and immobile he spent a lot of time just lying, so we put him under a baby gym. To grab his attention we slowly added more and more eye-catching stuff until it almost groaned under the weight of tinsel, baubles, small mirrors, anything which dangled and caught the light. We are sure that in his tiny world this encouraged him to finally reach out and start knocking and grabbing. The long path to commando crawling at 3 and stand and walking at 5 started right there.
