So frequently we mistakenly believe that our children need more things, when in reality their silent pleadings are simply for more of our time. The accumulation of wealth or the multiplication of assets belies the Master’s teachings:
“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
“But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
“For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also (Matt 6:19-21)."

This helps me to realize what this life is really all about.
I love this. Maybe staying home with the kids and living on a very limited and tight budget isn't so bad afterall.
It's so true. The kids I nanny for will act out a lot and are "bought" away w/ material items when all they really want is time with their parents.
I have a prayer request:

Thank you.
Of course any quote by Thomas S Monson is wonderful, but I truly know this to be true. I taught so many kids who had everything money could buy but did not have time with their parents. It got to the point that they would get in extreme trouble just to get some attention. Thanks for sharing!
Thinking of you guys..didnt see any new posts the last couple days...hope everything is ok!
Awesome quote! I love pres Monsun!
I love this quote and have often thought of it. It's my guilt free quote. I just think of it when we don't have the money to do this or cannot go to that activity because of Laneah. I just remember that- that is not what life is all about.
Besides I cannot not even consistantly do the things I am suppose to do everyday. I can get ot some of them but not all in the same day.
Thanks for the reminder
