Wintertime Fun

Have I told all of you how much I love the kidz blog? It has brought so much joy to me, meeting all of you, sharing information, swapping stories, finding friends.... Love it! I've decided I'd like to do a bit more to spread the word, though, so we're having a kick-off party in February. There will be fantastic kidz stories, giveaways.... Oh, it will be a good time! So mark your calendars and spread the word!....

Copy & paste the following code into your blog or website

NOW. Onto the family fun ideas!....

Creative Thank You Notes

The Crafty Crow gives some ideas of creative ways to say thank you. This is a great way to teach your children to show gratitude, and to get them involved in the process! Definitely go check it out.

Letter of the Week

No Time For Flash Cards shows how to creat this wintry W. Go here for more letter ideas from NTFCF (love that site).

Don't Eat Pete! (free downloadable game)

Sparkle Power shows you how to play this game. Oh, and they let you download it for free. How nice is that?!?!?

Anti-Coloring Books
(more free downloadables!)

What are anti-coloring books? According to their site....

  • let children use their imaginations
  • exciting motivation is provided
  • a scene is set
  • children get to put on their thinking caps
  • exercise their imaginations
  • turn on their critical thinking
  • most of all they have fun!

And to help promote their books, they are giving away free pages here. You need to go get in on the fun! I think this is such a neat idea. Here's one example....

The bottom of the page says: 'This clown has learned how to become invisible. We can only see a circle. What part of the clown do you think this circle is?'

Here's what some kids came up with....

March of the Penguins

These cream cheese penguins have to be the cutest hor dourves (I had to look up the spelling on that) I've ever seen. And, as an olive fan, they look delish too! Go to All Recipes for more info.

Snow Ice Cream

An Exaltation for Larks gives a tutorial to make this ice cream. Fun!

If you need recipes, you're definitely going to want to stop by Nana's Kitchen. She's posted some real winners lately! I particularly love the Yogurt Parmesan Baked Chicken. Mmmmm! Tasty.

Have a fun weekend!

Are you still working on it..and that is why it is not working?

Sorry everyone. I went to put it on my personal blog and had the same issue. I'll delete the code for now. Just use the picture for now, and I'll get the code fixed. Sorry and thanks!

I love the idea of using a picture of the kids using the gift as a thank you!! That's brilliant!

Such fantastic ideas! Thanks for posting these and I may just have to try the snow ice cream - if we get all the snow they're predicting in the next 24 hours (only 8-10 inches so I'm not complaining)...

Tara- I am such an idiot! I mean it, too! I JUST saw your comment on one of my posts at A Cookbook Blog... I hope you DO try the Honey BBQ Ribs. They are a seriously easy staple in our house. Oh, and the cake on my header was my oldest daughters first birthday cake, I made another exactly like it for my other daughter, and it is a tradition since my mom made me the same cake for MY first birthday. :) This is such a great site! Thanks for creating such a fun site.

My kids love Kalamatta olives, I'll have to give that a try. And the anti-coloring book pages seem like a great alternative. Thanks for the links and for stopping by this morning.
